Roofing invoices are read by homeowners, by insurance adjusters and by lenders, and each wants something specific: the homeowner wants to see what was installed, the adjuster wants the invoice to match the claim scope in squares, the lender wants the permit and the license. This template has fields for the claim number and deductible, lines in squares and linear feet, and a materials section with brands and warranties.
Free, fillable, US Letter. No email, no sign-up. Fill in your company, license and insurance details once. For each job change the property, the measurements and the claim details if there is a claim.
What the PDF looks like. The hints in the line table show the lines a roofer typically bills; type over them.
Adjusters pay by the Xactimate line: squares of shingles, linear feet of drip edge, number of vents. If your invoice is one lump sum, the supplement is denied.
The homeowner owes the deductible and the insurer owes the rest; the invoice has to show both. Waiving a deductible is illegal in many states, and the invoice is the evidence.
“Shingles, 30 squares” is not enough for the manufacturer warranty registration. Brand, product line, color.
Lines a typical job produces. Labor and materials are separate, and anything already paid is a negative line so the total is the balance due.

Use the claim number, insurer and adjuster in the header, and lines that match the approved scope in the same units (squares, linear feet, counts). Show the ACV payment received, the recoverable depreciation still due from the insurer, and the deductible due from the homeowner, so the balance has three clear sources.
No. In most states it is insurance fraud for a contractor to absorb or “eat” the deductible, and several states require the invoice to show the deductible was collected. Show it as a line the homeowner pays.
Squares (100 sq ft) for shingles, tear-off and labor, because that is how materials are sold and how insurers write scopes. Linear feet for drip edge, flashing and ridge; counts for vents and boots.
Your workmanship warranty (commonly 5–10 years) and a note that the manufacturer warranty is registered to the homeowner, with the product named so the registration can be verified.
10–30% on signing, with materials delivered before the balance is due; some states cap deposits on home improvement contracts. For insurance jobs, many roofers collect the first insurance check as the deposit.
