A Word estimate is for people who want to write the scope in their own words and keep a copy per client in a folder. This .docx has a scope paragraph above the line table, so the description of what is included and excluded is part of the document, not an afterthought, plus the valid-until date and an acceptance line the client can sign.
Free, one page, US Letter. No email, no sign-up. It opens in Word 2010 and later, LibreOffice, Pages, and imports into Google Docs.
Same layout in other formats: Fillable PDF · Excel / Sheets (.xlsx)
The layout: header, bill-to block, line table, totals, terms. Same in every format; the format changes how you fill it.

Avo keeps your clients and your usual line items, so the next invoice is three taps. Your first three documents are free, full-quality PDF, no watermark. Premium from $59.99/year if you invoice often.

Scan the code with your iPhone camera to open Avo in the App Store, or email yourself the link.
File → New → search “estimate” shows a few generic ones. They lack the scope block, the valid-until date and the acceptance line that trade estimates need; this template has all three.
Partly: Layout → Formula → =SUM(ABOVE) in the total cell, recalculated with F9. For automatic math use the Excel version.
Open the invoice template for Word, paste the same line table, change the title and the dates, and add the deposit as a credit line. Keeping the lines identical is what prevents disputes.
PDF. The client cannot edit it and it looks the same on a phone. Keep the .docx as your master.
